The IOC (International Olympic Committee) responded to our letters!

If you would like to read the document they sent us, it is in the front of the classroom. You may read it during silent reading. They also sent us these cool Olympic pins! If you wrote a letter to them and haven't yet received your pin, come talk with me.

Your Projects Were Awesome!

You guys did such a fabulous job on your projects that I wanted to show a few of them off on our website. As you look through your classmates' work, notice their organization - imagine the text structure they would have created - and notice their use of multimedia (especially when they show off their own surveys).

Maranda did such a great job presenting her project on dreams that everyone had questions for her. It was so interesting!

Talia has some deep thoughts about how leaders use hope and fear to control people.

Makaela did two very interesting surveys about leadership and published her results here. After the video from Ender's Game, she asked the class what they noticed about Ender's leadership. So cool!

Riley did an excellent job of using questions to direct his research. It is quiet interesting as well. Check it out here.

Madison's question was "what makes people stand up for their believes?" She has such great analysis of her sources.

Want to learn more about different types of horses? Check out Liesl's project.

Cassondra wanted to know what causes people to go insane. She learned that people don't go insane, but there are mental disorders. She then researched three of them.

Jane has some pretty interesting ideas about her question: Does fear have control of us?

Caden answers the question, "Why do people lie?" and organizes lying into different categories.

Here are two great projects on animal communication: Cameron Gray and Madi Scivally.

Sofia's project about loyalty was very well made and has a cute video that she explained.

There were so many more awesome presentations. Great job to everyone!

There are some companies that will reward students who get A's on their report card. Make sure you call ahead to verify the deal! I can't promise any of these companies will give you anything, but it is worth the try!

• Chuck E. Cheese - Bring in a recent report card with good grades and receive free game tokens.
• Chick-fil-A – Report cards with all A’s and B’s will receive a free 8 piece chicken nugget.
• Pizza Hut – Report cards with 3 A’s or more will receive a free personal pan pizza and drink. Dine in only.
• Krispy Kreme – Get a free original glazed doughnut for each A (up to 6 A’s).
• McDonalds- Free happy meal for report cards with all A’s
• Cheryl & Co Free cookie for every A on report card

• Limited Too.  Limited Too states report cards with passing grades must be brought to a girl’s local Limited Too store within 30 days of when she receives it. The girl will receive $5.00 off her purchase that day. I would assume this will work at Justice, but I would call first.
  Cold Stone Creamery -Get all A’s and you get a free ice cream. Just have your child bring in their report card. This is for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade. Only at participating locations.
  McDonald’s : Students with a straight “A” report card get a free Happy Meal (Kindergarten-5th grades) or a free Value Meal (6th-12th grades). Call your local McDonald’s to see if they will participate.
  Wendy’s: Students who received A’s and B’s on their report card and bring it into Wendy’s will receive a delicious report card reward. Not all locations participate.
  Baskin Robbins: Free scoop of ice cream for a good report card.
